Great product
Took a Saturday only because i had to drain and remove the old tank, rearrange the copper plumbing including sweating pipes and run the direct venting through the wall. You must use rennai's vent system sold separately on ebay. I vented mine horizontally through the wall. The vent is pvc and snaps together. You will also need a 110 outlet near by. Make sure your pressure reducer is working properly at 45 - 80 lbs max. It works great! Expect 15 seconds longer on a long run like the other end of the house for the water to get piping hot. No big deal. You can add a recirculating pump for that if it bothers you. Otherwise we've had 3 showers and a load of clothes going at the same time with no , and I mean no reduction in performance or hot water. Hard to believe but true. This model at 11gpm's would run a small business. Normal house with two baths would be just fine with the 9.5 gpm model. All the people who said I'd be taking it right back out were very wrong. This was one of the best improvements I've done. The other was new energy efficient windows and doors. Expect a 30 - 40% reduction in gas over the old tank models. For us that is $25 per month, more in the warmer months. I highly recommend this unit. Rinnai only!
