Really needs Samsung phone to maximize use of Samsung Watch 3.
The watch performs great, especially when paired with an android phone. It doesn't pair well with Apple phones. You need a samsung phone in order to connect with a samsung account, to register and properly pair the device.
There are many watch faces available which are easy to add with the samsung gear app, but doesn't work well again with an iphone. This is the last model that even remotely pairs with apple at all. Fortunately, I have both types of devices available. It gave me one more reason to retain an older samsung smartphone.
