Terrific Book for Preschool Teachers
I had browsed through this book at a bookstore while on vacation, but did not want to add the weight to a suitcase already bordering on the weight limit. I was excited to find it here on EBay.
If you are a teacher of preschool children, this is the perfect all-in-one book. The author briefly summarizes learning styles of children, multiple intelligences, subject areas, and directions for using the book in the classroom. Each topic begins with a circle time activity. The authors include a list of books relevant to the topic as well as songs and fingerplays to incorporate with it. The authors then proceed to give you an activity to use with the topic in six of the following areas: art, discovery, fine motor, language, music, sand and water play, writing, math, snack. Once the activities are completed for the day, a closing circle time (reflection)is suggested at the end of the topic.
The book also has sections on fingerplays, songs/chants, tongue twisters, games/dances, stories, recipes for both cooking and for arts and crafts, and patterns to use. At the end of every unit there are ideas for informal assessment to help you assess the learning that has taken place.
I teach at the high school level and direct a student-lead preschool where we have children from the community attend. Sometimes my students have difficulty understanding what it is exactly that they should be teaching preschoolers. This book makes it very easy to comprehend how an early childhood classroom should be operating and the learning objectives that should be taking place.
For anyone in their beginning teaching years, the lesson planning is done for you! For teachers who want a new resource guide, this book is it!

Love the Birkenstock Salina

Best bath mat I've found!
Extra -large commercial grade rubber bath mat was purchased for my elderly mom who needs sure footing underneath when showering. This mat is heavy, extremely durable, and practically covers the entire bottom of the tub. It is definitely has a non-slip surface. I'm so pleased to have purchased this at a price lower than the big "A" online place.
