Realiable and flexible for use other then a dvd player
The greatest feature for me on this product is that the screen can be swiveled around 180 degrees and allows me to Velcro the unit to the dash board on my car for a cheaper navigation system using a laptop and a cheap usb gps device to the laptop computer, the video out going to the Sony monitor. I do field service for televisions and need the computer for that operation so in my older car this was the only safe option for maps in my field of view. The touch controls are easy to use and the remote allows for passengers to use the device as a DVD player while off of work, simply undo the Velcro and take it with you. the battery has more then enough capacity to watch a movie and the screen has a nice contrast and color and the sound is better then average.
I would not leave it in the car on a hot summer day, i have yet to see one fail for that but other makers like RCA the plastic will warp and jam the disc player, these stand up to the heat a lot better. and the batteries and still available for this unit, be care full at the beach, sand is bad !

neat and colorfull for the 1976 bi centenial
made by tyco it's not as well built but still fun to run and the cost makes them good entry level collectables, i also have the matching engine for this as well

some need to have thermal comound installed on the heat sink, easyy fix
the pros are that it works as designed and is simple to set up and has great efficacy, they can be used in a wide range of applications
The main con is I have found these lack any kind of thermal compound and had one overheat and fail
but that is an easy fix as the heat sink is held on by 2 screws, pop that off and a little thermal compound to the top of the amp chip and use non conductive thermal compound, you don't want that on the ic's pins, pop the heat sink back on and works great and a little compound is easy to install or use a thin thermal pad. just be careful installing the screws , lighter torque when reinstalling, screws too tight can deform the PCB
I don't notice the THD distortion unless running on full power or a lower supply voltage
I would have given 5 stars if I did not need to add thermal paste
