doesnt fit what it says!
i dont think it actually fits a 2002 kawasaki 650 prairie like it says... put the belt on and the machine goes forward and backward as soon as i drop it into gear. if i hold the brake it makes a loud squeeling sound. despite the advertisements, i think the belt might be too small for a prairie. drove it about 10 miles and situation didnt improve!

Better than expected
I bought 7 of these green plastic waters and 2 stainless steel ones for outdoor boarding stables. I have been running them daily for 2 months solid now. I paid $36 each for the plastic ones and $48 for the stainless ones. I like them all. I bought 9 extra floats in case some fail. Stainless and plastic take the same floats. As of two months I haven't had any fail. As others have said the drain plug is really nice for cleaning in the plastic ones. Open it up, let her drain, and swish the moss/debris out with your hands while the water is still running, then hand snug the plug. Very handy. Although the stainless ones are not a problem to clean either. Just swish and splash the bowl empty and it is clean also. I thought the horses might chew on the plastic edges and beat them up. Board horses are rough on things. They haven't bothered either the plastic or stainless ones. I mounted them to steel plates that I welded to the steel pens. I thought the two bolts holding them on would not be sufficient, once again I was wrong. Those two bolts hold the waters nice and tight against the steel plates and it is a good mount. Now if you tried to bolt them to a round pipe or screw them into wood that wasn't flat, I think you would have rocking problems with the waters. Just mount them to something solid and flat (i.e. a stall wall) and you will be fine. Nothing to go wrong except the float, so for the price, it is totally worth it. I am in cold climate so when the weather man says we will get to 32 degrees, I have to blow out the lines and winterize, because I am sure the float would break with even a light freeze.....good stuff for summer use only. Don't think these will survive any kind of freeze. PS. These plastic ones hold almost twice the water as the stainless steel ones. The Stainless ones are smaller capacity. They still work fine for horses though. For the price, I would take plastic over stainless, however if you find a good sale on the stainless, then stainless is more durable in the long run. I will be curious after a couple years if the plastic has sun damage and brittleness.

Mount it to a wall!
I bought two of them. We mounted one on the wall, with sticky tape!, and pointed it toward the john...it glows the whole room! The second one we bought is in a pot. It kinda grosses me out, due to splat-ature, but it works cool and provides ambiance!
