Install suggestions
I just finished installing the UFO light kit and I love it. Bright white light without obstructing my view or movement.
I had a couple snags while installing. I hope these notes will help you with an easier install.
The zip ties were installed as suggested, but raising the ram caused the powder measure return bracket to hit the upper tie. The solution was to remove the shell plate and loosen the shellplate platform. The return bracket could then be rotated to give more clearance. The platform then needed to be realigned.
The second snag was the index sprocket hitting the pigtail/LED strip splice as the shell plate was rotated. I had placed the LED strip in a nice vertical line which put it as close, too close, to the shell plate and the sprocket arms. The adhesive had not fully set and I was able to shift the end of the LED strip slightly to the left, just enough to clear the sprocket arms. It's not perfectly vertical anymore. Sue me.
I highly recommend the UFO light kit. It's everything they say it is. Even in a brightly lit shop it makes a huge difference in seeing each round is as perfect as you can make it.
