Complete and ready to go
This kind of fire-starting method requires some preparation of materials that a typical ferrocerium tinder bundle may not; the addition of char cloth was a welcome bonus! Didn't take a lot for me to get my first fire going (I've studied the technique before purchasing) and I can understand the benefits that someone might get out of this.
Definitely a good purchase if you're into the idea of developing 'primitive skills.'

Great Ferro Rod

Straight and to the point
Well-built scraping tool for a ferro rod, serrations aren't particularly sharp (I'm assuming that you're supposed to use them as a magnesium scraper) but they're more than good enough to tear up jute twine. Excellent value for the cost-- purchased multiples because I tend to lose things and at this price, I can afford to!
