Lovely repertoire and playing
This is a wonderful, timeless recording (originally made in 1973), the LP of which I was exposed to as a child, and many of the tunes have found their way into my subconscious. I was very pleased to find a copy of the 1994 CD reissue.
There is something melancholic and sweet about David Munrow's recorder tone and -articulation (which I would describe as rounder and more refined than Frans Brüggen's), although I suspect that knowing about his untimely death and all that might have been had he lived longer may have something to do with this perception.
Try and find your own copy if you can - I can guarantee that you will treasure it.

The recently discovered KV 70374.
A highly collectable Playmobil Special figure of Wolfgang Amadeus, nicely detailed and finished. Very pleased to have found it on eBay, as I had not seen it anywhere else.
