STAYGLOW SWISS CHAMP......A GREAT COMPANION!
I used to be a Victorinox dealer and I have carried a Vixtorinox Swiss Champ every day since they first came out. It is the perfect daily companion for solving most problems I run into.
It is a quality tool built to last a lifetime.
I like the "glow" feature of the Stayglow version, but I like the feel of the handle scales even better and the Stayglow handles don't scuff up like the regular handle scales.

A great EDC!
The Cold Steel Finn Wolf is an excellent EDC knife,.
It will easily compete with much higher priced knives.
The zero-grind edge is razor sharp and very easy to maintain especially if you use a leather strop. Even with the thumb studs you can still sharpen the entire edge if you lay the blade flat on the bevel that goes to the edge and then angle the blade sideways so that you can sharpen it all the way to the back end .
The knife will glide right through card board to break down boxes.
The Tri-ad lock locks up very solid, but it is very stiff to release when you get the knife, so all you need to do is to open the blade and then put a drop of oil down inside on either side of the pivot rivet, Then open and close it a few times and the lock will be easier to release.
The pocket clip has just the right amount of tension for a pocket in a pair of jeans.
I would highly recommend the Cold Steel Finn Wolf!

Victorinox Evolution S557....a great everyday companion!
2 of 2 found this helpful The Victorinox Evolution S557 is a very nice EDC knife.
I used to be a Victorinox dealer and I own and use Swiss Champs, Craftsmans, Rangers, Tinkers, Super Tinkers, Classics, Huntsmans, Recruits, Duo Pros, Soldiers (both old models and current), etc. I also own a number of Wengers.
The S557 has combined the best Wenger innovations (ergonomic handles, scissors and pliers with a springless lever design, adjustable pliers, locking screwdrivers, universal wrench, nailfile with cleaner, main blade with a little more belly to it, and locking blade) with Victorinox innovations (the arc style can opener, reamer with sharpened edge and sewing eye, tooth pick and tweezers that are sturdier than the ones on Wengers)
For cutting paper I have always preferred the Victorinox scissors, however, the Wenger springless scissor design with serrated blades works better if you are cutting something slick such as nylon zip ties.
If you play guitar, the wire cutter on the Wenger pliers is perfect for cutting guitar strings....you just slide the string through the hole on the pliers and slide the pliers next to the tuning key and cut the string.
When I first tried to open the phillips screwdriver and the universal wrench on my S557 they were both very hard to open, so I just put a drop of oil on the pivot point of each and worked them back and forth for about a minute each and they open fine now.
The S557 is comfortable in my hand when I am using the main blade. Also, it is nice to have a locking blade and the lock does not get in the way with my hand around the handle. The lock actually sits below the middle bend in my index finger when I am holding it and in no way is it possible for it to release while I am using it. When it is time to close it, it releases easily and pauses at 115 degrees when closing to prevent accidental closure on the user's fingers.
Most people will probably want to carry this knife in a belt pouch, but I find it comfortable to carry vertically next to my wallet in my back pocket.
I would recommend the Victorinox S557 as a very useful everyday tool.
