Palms look good at night, but breaks easy
3 of 3 found this helpful The 1/8 wire material used to support the truck light strip was welded together end to end. When you stretch it out as instructed, the welds break apart! I had it break in 2 spots right out of the box.
Also at the bottom of the tree, the stand has a metric set screw to tighten on the feet to hold it from swiveling. Well the M6X1.0 threaded nut that is weld to the side of the pole didn't line up with the through hole on the pole. Causing the set screw to not go through to hold it from swiveling. So I had to re tap the threads through for it to work properly. Luckily I am a machinist and have the ability to repair this stuff instead of bothering with the return process. Looks great after it is set up. However be prepared to do some rework on the poorly welded together frame. That spiral wire should be all one piece since you have to stretch it out from the bottom to the top. Not welded in segments. Duh! It will break !

Reads high after rain
It worked good for a week. Then it got rained on. After that the temperature was reading way high. So we got another pool thermometer to compare it to. Water temperature was actually 81. It showed 97..
You would think that it would be rain proof considering it's floating in a pool of water.
So I opened it up and found that it had about an inch of water in the bottom by the sensor causing it to read high. I dried it out over night and it was closer to the actual water temperature then. However still reads hight about 4 degrees or so. Their has to be a better one out there.

Overall is good
Works good, seams a bit fragile. Uses a lot of bubble juice. Have to refill often.
