Silly
This book attempts to provide a humorous look at the behind the scenes, inner workings of a big league clubhouse as covered by a female reporter. Unfortunately, I did not find it amusing. It tried too hard to be shocking and outrageous and came off as silly and embarrassing instead.

An imperfect but brilliant baseball man
1 of 1 found this helpful I'm a Billy Martin fan so I have several books about him and by him. I think he has gotten a raw deal from MLB and from sports journalists and media. He should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame as a manager but he won't be considered because of bias and a double standard as far as judging merits versus human flaws. This book enlighten readers as to Martin's genius for strategy on the baseball field while also hinting at his problems with alcohol, which were well-documented, and his toxic, on-again, off-again relationship with NY Yankees owner, George Steinbrenner.

Fun summer movie
A cute movie which evokes the nostalgia of youth of another era. Well-acted by 80's "it" girl Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda is also good as the preacher's wild daughter, and I love Page Hannah, whom I prefer to her sister, Darryl Hannah. I don't know why she didn't become a bigger star. Just a nice teen movie reminiscent of American Graffiti. It's sort of a Southern version of that, as it's set at around the same time, the early '60's. Love the clothes, hairdo's, music and the dance, The Shag, which gave this movie its title.
