Lee Factory Crimp die is just OK
I had heard that the Lee die is the way to for crimping 45/70. I found it hard to get the area that needs the crimp into proper position. It's easier to just use the roll crimp die by backing out the seater plug, set the cartridge on top of the shell holder, and gently run the cartridge up into the die until you feel resistance and add enough pressure to
to get the desired roll crimp. Note: I was loading Hornady cases that are about .030 of an inch shorter than other brass cases.
