BODY OF PROOF - ANOTHER CORPORATE SCREW UP
Body of Proof had good solid acting, great and different story lines from all the 'other medical crime dramas' out there and had the POTENTIAL to run probably 6-10 seasons .. there was loads of character development and back stories that could have been told but somebody in 'corporate' decided it wasn't making enough $$ I guess and it got cancelled much to the anger of many fans. How many good ones get cut after 1 - 3 seasons? Firefly, Body of Proof, Eureka (Ok that one made it 4 seasons after major fallout when they started to cut it)......They did wrap it up a little at the end of season 3 but there was SOOOOOO much more potential.... get it while its still around!!

2012 - Day after Tomorrow on Steroids !!
2 of 2 found this helpful EOTW (End of the World) movies have come a long way since On The Beach by Neville Shute. I thoroughly enjoyed Day After Tomorrow (DAT) and 2012 was done by, basically, the same people which prompted me to buy it. While the personal drama between the characters is not as deep or as complex as that developed in DAT, the special effects more than compensate for this loss.I DO wish they had included English subtitles for the dialog that took place in Chinese, Indian and and a couple of other languages. Also, unlike DAT the science involved was somewhat more sketchy - connate water, for example, would NOT be clear and pretty as the stuff seen bubbling in the capped well at the bottom of the mine in India was. The geology crowd must have been laughing their butts off.
One a more cosmic sense the movie raises questions about the following: our government, what we really get told by the media, the nature of the human species, and what we ( I, you etc.) do as individuals each day. Definitely worth watching... probably 2 or 3 times.

The House of the Devil (DVD 2010)
3 of 3 found this helpful As a collector of 'haunted house' type movies, which includes a wide range of good, bad and ugly offerings I just had to get a copy of this DVD. I will probably keep it for a while.
This is NOT just another slasher flick with overly developed teenagers being used as fodder. Much more Hitchcock-ian in nature much of the movie implies certain things and forces you to (gasp) actually imagine and think. That being said there are a few spots that many people would consider slow but, hey, we all spend some time in traffic. Similar to "Let The Right One In" in some mechanical aspects, House of the Devil will have you thinking about it long after you popped the disk. Cheers ... the dustwrapper
