Cygolite Hotrod 50-Lumen 6-Mode USB Rechargeable LED Bicycle Rear Tail Light
    Apr 02, 2018
Like it as part of a 2 light combo
I really like this light. I use it in conjunction with a Cygolite Hotshot 150 rear light. The Hotshot 150 is definitely brighter by a comfortable margin. I've confirmed it's easily noticeable from at least a half mile away, but it's only visible straight back from the bike. It gives off no lateral light at all. The Hotrod 50 is about a third as bright (50 lumens vs 150 lumens) but it's got a much wider spread so it can be easily seen from about 75 degrees off center. That gives me a lot more light to the sides to make me noticed by cars. That's also worth noting since the Hotrod 50 is designed to mount flat to an angled seat post. In conjunction with the Hotshot 150 I have the 150 blinking slowly and the 50 blinking fast. The 150 grabs the attention of a driver behind me then the 50 will keep their attention with the faster blinking. The Hotrod 50 is bright enough to be seen at mid day, but I am happier with the 150 lumen light working in conjunction with it as there is no option to not see the 150 lumen light. For nighttime riding the Hotrod 50 is plenty of rear light all by itself. Nice wide beam and more than bright enough against the dark background of night, even if you're riding under a street lamp. In the daytime....it's borderline as to if it's enough all by itself but it probably is. I'd still recommend the Hotrod 50 as part of a 2 light combo for daytime riding. See from the photos how I use it with the Hotshot 150. Note, the Hotrod 50 does not mount horizontally like this out of the box. I had to get creative to get it mounted stably that way.
Kona Gold Sugar Free Hemp Infused Energy Drink 12 Fluid Ounces, 12 Pack
    Mar 04, 2019
Fantastic. Mild energy, not a heart explosion
I don't like energy drinks in general because they tend to taste like room temperature death. But someone at my office gave me a can of the sugar free Kona Gold f to try and it was really good. It got me through the rest of the day too when I was about to crawl under my desk and take a nap. Again, I'm not a huge energy drink person so I don't know how the energy effect compares to Red Bull. But this did perk me up. And I didn't have to choke it down like it was cough syrup the way I did to the last Red Bull I had a couple of years ago. This was enjoyable to drink like a normal beverage. Not a 'get it down as fast as possible to get it over with' situation. 3 hours later I feel like a normal person, not like my heart is going to explode. (Another issue I had with Red Bull, and reason no. 2 why I never drink that stuff)

CYGOLITE HOTSHOT PRO 150 USB RECHARGEABLE COMMUTER LED BIKE REAR TAIL LIGHT
    Jun 13, 2017
    Works perfect for be seen
Test it outside to see how well it works, not inside. Inside it's just insanely bright. It looks ridiculous. But you need that in direct sunlight or it would be useless. In sunshine it's perfect. It's still retina searing bright if you look directly at it from arm's length. But from across a parking lot it is perfect. Especially when it's flashing there is no possible way on Earth a driver won't see this light from at least 100 yards behind you. Before I put it on my bike I tested it more as a driver. I put the light on my front steps and sat back in my car to look at it. From inside my car (meaning behind the windshield) it was the perfect brightness. Definitely not blinding, but also definitely not too dim. Cygolite makes a 100 lumen and 50 lumen model of these. Get the 150. It will seem too bright when you turn it on in your living room. It's perfect for riding on the road in broad daylight conditions. It will absolutely draw the eyes of drivers to you and alert them to your presence. It's also a micro USB plug. (The same as every cell phone since about 2013) So every cord you already have will charge it. The 100 and 50 lumen models are micro USB. The battery holds up well. Keep in mind that I don't use the constant on feature (always on red but with flashing bright red). I use the dim dim bright flash pattern. I haven't charged it since I got it. Probably about 2 hours of ride time and counting on the charge it came with out of the box. So the battery life if fine. (Night riding when you'll want the constant on with the flashing would be lower battery life) The one thing I don't love it the mounting brackets. It comes with 2. A big circular one to mount it to your seat post and a small circular one to mount it to other parts of the bike frame. It's not easy to mount it to a rear rack, where I prefer it. I was able to make a solid mount using an old angle bracket. (Probably 50 cents at Home Depot if you buy a new one). There is also a separate mounting bracket for racks that have mounting holes built into the frame. But no matter what, you're going to have to do something extra to mount it to a rack than you can using the parts in the box. The short version is....this light will get you noticed by cars and the battery life is fine. I've also had 1 ride on wet road (not in a heavy downpour, but with the rear tired spraying it with standing water) and it worked just fine.
