HEAVY. poorly designed book without much information.
VERY big format, awkward to handle. Over-enlarged photos, spread across two pages. Very little text..

Nic Fields revises history from an anti-Western/anti-Christian perspective.
The author is a Muslim apologist, minimizing Islamic aggression & bloodthirsty brutality, while reaching out to emphasize the flaws of the Christian warriors. His biggest stretch of of fiction is to proclaim that Lepanto was an insignificant victory by the West, which changed nothing. A waste of energy dealing with it, despite some interesting nuggets. It is composed as a series of sidebars rather than a coherent narrative.
Illustrations are small and tiny. If you like maps, check Wikipedia or buy a better book..
If you want readable and reliable information about the history of the conflict between Islam and Christianity, look elsewhere.
