A great deal, and perfect for me!
13 of 13 found this helpful The perfect vehicle for adapting my wide-array of vintage, manual-focus lenses. The a7R III can do lots more and has all sorts of features for autofocus and video, but I don't use any of that. This means it took a while to get everything customized for my narrow use, but once I did, it's a joy to use and allows me to pursue my passion. Its compact size, good viewfinder, high resolution sensor, long battery life, and in-body image stabilization have all stood out to me during use. And now that the a7R IV was released, this version III can be found at a very good price!

Surprisingly compact yet solid-built lens, sharp centrally at open aperture and across the frame by f/4 for landscapes, with a great out of focus rendering. Focuses close and does well with its floating element design.

90+% of the way to the Summilux ASPH for a fraction of the cost, with a bit bigger aperture as a bonus!
1 of 1 found this helpful Sturdy and well-made, yet relatively compact for an f/1.2 lens. It's a great balance of character and resolution, wonderful for portraits and a more artistic rendering at large apertures, or stop it down and shoot landscapes that are sharp to the edge. This Nokton doesn't quite reach the level of color and feel of my Leica Summilux ASPH, but you'll never notice the difference when viewing images on a cellphone or web-sized jpegs.
