Vintage Shure M70EJ Stereo Dynetic Cartridge NOS but NO STYLUS
Feb 09, 2016
30 - 40 year old cartridges that you can't buy every day
Shure sold a lot of their classic standard mount cartridges back in the day. Some occasionally turn up NOS. Most are used. A small percentage don't work, typically one channel gets shorted from fragile coil wire breaking. This one was fine. If you want a good deal buy a 35 series new. Populat with d.j.s but loaded with a lighter duty needle they're great. Have fun.

JEFF BECK - TRUTH SUNDAZED LP
May 25, 2018
No need to go in hock for a UK mono press
This lp arrived direct from Sundazed. The vinyl is heavy and pressed very well. Very quiet. The sound of the music is really impressive. Lots of high end presence, fat bottom, and really does justice to the sounds buried in the less than strange Mickie Most production. The best thing would be if they could find the multi tracks and undo the horror this man inflicted on this lp. Mono is more impressive for this lp as the sound balance is more focused. If you want a keeper copy that lets you hear this landmark lp as good as it can possibly sound, this is it. There are apparently two versions pressed by Sundazed, with one by Kevin Gray and one cut by Wes Garland. I have not even checked the dead wax to see what I got. I have owned an original Epic, and an original UK blue logo Columbia EMI stereo press, and I prefer this pressing. I am very happy.
These are great foam surrounds. They sit right, they match up to the cone great, and when you set them in place with glue they cure in place fine. Some cheap surrounds pucker up with the glue, but these had no problem. It is always good to run a low end hz tone to make sure the coil is lined up, but because these are nice and in round, there is no issue with them pulling the coil out of whack. I would buy these again in a heartbeat.
