One of the best pokemon movies
2 of 2 found this helpful This is one of the best, if not the best pokemon movie. I'm not going to pretend it's a masterpiece, but for a film aimed at children it's pretty solid. A decent mixture of story and action, it's not all about the battles, but they are there. Anyway if you are a pokemon fan, or have a kid that's into it, it's worth a watch.
While the movie follows Ash and the gang, Lucario is pretty much the central story focus, being awoken in a very different time after suffering what seemed to be a betrayal/abandonment by his trainer, Sir Aaron, he ends up trying to cope with the whole situation and help Ash recover pikachu who is taken by Mew (Who has its own subplot going on). Ash happens to have a similar aura to Lucario's trainer and also happened to be wearing a similar costume, which plays on the fact that Lucario takes out most of his frustration towards Sir Aaron on Ash. Along the way everyone learns more about the events of Lucario's timeline and what actually happened.

Excellent Sequel that never made it to the US
1 of 1 found this helpful I don't speak japanese so getting through this game was fairly challenging, but I enjoyed it enough to figure it all out and beat it anyway. The original Pokemon TCG for gameboy was a great game, and this is basically 2.0 of said game, featuring a new island with new "gyms". Along with new areas and "duelists", you now earn coins instead of medals that you can use instead of the default coin in matches. The computer that contains mail and collection information is now in a portable form and now exists in the standard menu. You can now save up to 5 custom deck builds at any time, anywhere. And featuring a ton of new cards from the rocket set, pop series, and more, there is a lot more deck variety available.
If you like the TCG and loved the first game check this one out, I know there is an English fan translated rom out there on the web, but there is nothing like playing the official game on official hardware, as long as you know the TCG and have access to the internet for card information and guidelines to some of the custom rule sets for later card matches you should be able to figure the game out without speaking Japanese, especially since the menus are laid out almost identical to the first game.
tl:dr If you liked the first game, this is the DEFINITIVE version, better in every way with new content and features galore. You will have to deal with the Japanese language though, whether you speak it or not.
