Best upgrade to my desktop computer
This has been the best upgrade to my aging desktop gaming computer. Why should you believe me? Because no one ever gives me anything to try for free; I bought this with my own hard earned money.
This is definitely one of the best values $/GB compared with other comparable SATA III SSDs from other manufacturers. This may not be the fastest SSD out there, but at the limits of SATA III technology the differences are virtually negligible for consumer level computers under typical use. (Take a look at TechReport's review of Mushkin's 1TB SSD to see what I mean--Google it.) If you really need a faster HD, you should probably be looking into other technologies like PCI-e if your motherboard supports it.) This SSD is reportedly made from MLC NAND, which is expected to be reliable than other competitor's TLC NAND. For the reliability, capacity, and speed in the SATA III SSD category, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value. (Don't take my word for it; you're probably already comparing SSDs and looking for validation to buy this one.)
My desktop computer is 5-6 years old and built from fairly high performing components at the time. I didn't find value in using Intel's and AMD's flagship top-of-the-line processor and graphics card, respectively, at the time, but I settled on components that were definitely within the top 85th-percentile of each company's offerings at the time. I also overclocked the processor, graphics card, and RAM for more speed. At the time, SSDs were not a great value per GB, so I settled on Western Digital platter HDDs. My system worked great for the first 3-4 years, but thereafter newer games were unplayable. It was also exceedingly slow to edit graphics and videos in HD. Believing that my processor, RAM, and graphic card were to blame, I contemplated building a up-to-date gaming system. I upgraded to this SSD in order to back-up/transfer my data to and to serve as a secondary HD (to a primary PCI-e SSD) in my yet-to-be-built system. However, once I switched out my HDD with this SSD, my games actually became playable again. Now, I'm a hobbyist gamer (first person action games) and edit only the occasional graphic/video, so your results may vary. As far as I'm concerned, my plans to build a new gaming system are on hold until I encounter a must-play game that my system can't handle. In the meantime, I'm buying another Mushkin Reactor SSD for my wife's computer as soon as I submit this review, and I'm paying for it with my own hard-earned money. Take that for what it's worth.

Straightforward electronic, easy to install, easy to use.
Straightforward electronic lock. Matches the other hardware and locks in the same Schlage line. Installation is very simple. Works as advertised. It is important to note that this device is entirely "keyless" and does not use a key to manually operate in case of dead batteries. On the one hand, this can't be picked or bumped like a key lock. Instead, there are two terminals for a standard 9V battery to provide a temporary boost of power to operate the lock. It operates on a 9V battery (instead of 4 AA's as in Schlage's other touch screen locks), and passcodes are limited to 4 digits (instead of up to 8 as in Schlage's other touch screen locks). Provides great security in situations that don't require a deadbolt or don't require numerous or long access codes.
