SAMSUNG HW-Q70T 3.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos / DTS:X (2020)

I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars

Part of my less than 5 star review is because my expectation when buying the HW-Q70T is that I would be able to enjoy symphonic mode where the TV (a Samsung QLED 65” known as “The Frame”) would enhance the matching Samsung Q70T soundbar. I only discovered I missed the find print that I needed an EVEN LARGER screen to be able to enjoy the symphonic mode. So I’ll take part of the responsibility for that error. The subwoofer that is part of the package is subpar at best. I have it sitting next to me alongside my sofa and can barely hear anything from it. In contrast, I have a 10 year old Polk Audio sub that sounds fantastic compared to the sub included with the kit. The soundbar should come with the following tips that I am going to share with you: Connection to ConnectOne box: Do not waste your time using Bluetooth or even the eARC HDMI connection. Instead buy a digitial audio cable and don’t buy the cheapest one on Amazon or eBay. The digital audio cable uses a fibre optic means to tranmit the sound from the OneConnect box to the Soundbar. Mount it: I realize not everyone has the space or the means to do this but if you just sit it on a bookshelf or even a fireplace mantle (like I did originally) you won’t get the air flow that makes the soundbar valuable. I’ve just renovated the house I’m living in with my wife so I had my spaces all designed before the TV even arrived. There is a photo below where you can see how the Soundbar appears to float between the Samsung Tv and the Samsung Soundbar. I used the enclosed mounts, drilled a whole for a small passthru plate and ran the power cable up to where I had the construction workers install a TV mount and a power outlet. I did not use the included TV mount to give it “The Frame” look but wanted to be able to tilt and move it to the best spot because we have LOTS of windows and flat on the wall gave me too much glare. Great price for a solid product

I have owned Thinkpads since before IBM sold it to Lenovo. The TSeries are solid workhorses and using a docking station makes it easier to work. This was a great deal on this docking station and I am pleased with its integration.
