Tokina AT-X 100mm F/2.8 PRO D Macro Lens for Nikon EX++

Still better than Canon or Nikon?

This lens remains popular as an exceptional third-party lens for Nikon and Canon DSLRs. First introduced in 2006, the model was only recently replaced by the AT-Xi in 2019. It has received consistent stellar ratings from reviewers during all that time. When it was first introduced, the Tokina AT-X M100 Pro D Macro was considered BETTER than its Nikon and Canon counterparts. Nikon and Canon have since upped their game on macros but at twice the cost of the Tokina. Although a bit slow on auto-focus, my experience shooting with it so far has been extremely positive. It is super-sharp, ergonomically comfortable to use and renders excellent color fidelity. It may no longer be "better" than a comparable Nikon or Canon lens, but it won't disappoint the budget-minded photographer.

Great bargain XLR lavalier microphone

This XLR lavalier microphone is virtually identical to the Boya with the same model number (made by the same company) but sells for nearly half the price! Not as widely available in the States, though. Good crisp sound (not bassy or boomy) if you like that kind of audio. Not ideal for music vocals of course. Decent build quality. A heftier 6' cord would be nice. Very good deal for the novice videographer/blogger.

Lots of features, reasonably priced.

The Huawei Band 2 Pro fitness band has more features for the price (heart rate monitor built into the band, GPS tracking, text message alert, VO2 Max) than its more well-known competitors. It's comfortable and even a bit stylish on the wrist. The associated smart phone fitness apps are quite thorough (although VO2Max measurements are suspect, not unexpected at this price point). A great buy for someone just entering the fitness tracking world!
