Good value, 8 out of 10...

I bought his for a sound machine on the bed and it does seem to be good quality. However, the built-in software is awkward and seems outdated based on date printed on packaging. For example, it does not remember your settings for mono-stereo, or play mode (repeat, random, etc). Also, the rear power cable sticks out quite a bit and prevented from using on headboard of bed. Bought a replacement power cord with right angle plug that allows radio to be much closer to wall. It does have pretty good AM/FM reception in San Diego metro area. I would buy another one, but I recommend you verify the the software/build date is recent (mine was dated 2016).

As expected.. Exceptional Yamaha design, quality, and value!

This is another example of Yamaha excellence. Its been my experience that Yamaha products (music instruments, electronics, motorcycles) always provide exceptional design, quality, and affordable value. And the YST-SW215 is another example of that. The performance, level of control, user interface, optimum size, and visual design are all as good or better than the overpriced competition in any product category. Ive never bought a Yamaha product that didnt exceed my expectations. Want some serious bottom in your tunes, this compact monster delivers. Fits perfectly in my PC studio desk and provides the presence of live sound in a room thats 15 x 25 with plenty of headroom. Woundnt hesitate to buy another one.

Great for tight installations.

This is not polarized. But, what would be the squared off terminal of a polarized plug (at the radio) is connected to what would be the wide blade at the wall plug. So with both plugs in the downward orientation, this can be used as a replacement for polarized power cable.
