Does not work on brand new Honeywell ceiling fan!

Unfortunately, the Honeywell Universal Ceiling Fan & Light Remote Control, 40011 did not operate on our brand new Honeywell ceiling fan. According to our electrician most of them don't work unless they come with the fan. I really wish I had a remote for my light fixture. I was really bummed about it.
