Decent Knockoff
This is a decent quality knockoff. Made in Canada, not China. I have bought upwards of a hundred of them in the past few years. They have a very low failure rate. I think I can only recall one that I have had to toss out so far. The only thing I don't like about this mic is the rubber boot that connects into the side connector to protect the wire entering the connector assembly has broken on a few of them. It doesn't affect the operation of the mic, and can easily be fixed with a dab of good glue. Considering the cost, this is likely the best knockoff mic out there for the XTS series radios IMO. I have experimented with tons of them. Some of the high end knockoff mics are probably overall better in quality, but they will also cost 4-5 times more. If your goal is to pay less than OEM prices for a decent mic, this one should make you happy.

Okay Cheap Earpieces
I have bought hundreds of these from various sellers over the years, almost always in the 8 to 10 dollar range with free shipping. They are cheap earpieces that work decent enough as long as you take care of them, and we are largely satisfied with them. Under heavy daily use, you can expect to get several months to a year out of them. With occasional or lighter use they can last for years....just depending on how much you abuse them. We put them through pretty rough service, so to a fair degree, we consider them disposable. Many of our users change out the little piece that goes in your ear and use ear molds. You can certainly get much higher quality earpieces, but you are going to pay 3-4 times what these cost.
