New and varied! Modern Belarus coin collecting 1996-today
This is a great coin. Coins from Belarus are fairly easy to get when they first come out or from 4 or 5 years ago. but finding them that are older is more difficult. Because of low mintage and sometimes melting, older coins are more difficult to find..this is true for many former Soviet and eastern European countries coinage. On top of that the prices seem to increase dramatically after a few years, esp. for the low mintage coins. This coin happens to celebrate the 2002 Winter Olympics. I just started collecting Belarus coins in 2006, so I was happy to find this coin that is 11 years old. Of course they have only been issuing coins since 1996.

Coins are a learning historical experience
Thise is a simple numismatic coin purchase. I collect coins from Norway and also coins from the WWI & WWII this is a nice example of a coin from WWI. This is a small denomination that would have been used by the average man in the street. I identify coins with history, esp in the country where they came.
