JVC GR DA30US
This product was actually purchased as a replacement for a previous model of the same brand (JVC). It has a very intuitive layout with controls being actually in front of you below the display so you can make changes while watching through the screen to see the changes as opposed to having stopping and using controls embedded in the side of the camera with a flip out style display. This particular camcorder was refurbished, and I must say that I could not see any tell tell signs of prior use. It looked completely new with the exception of the sticker that stated it was refurbished. Had it not had the refurbished sticker, I would have never known, I would have thought it was new. Now for the sliding display, I know that it is shown as a feature of being able to see it from high and low positions while recording. My flip out style camcorder actually has more range of motion because the display rotates. So, as far as the display is concerned, I just think it's a little bit of a "new and cool style" that is not actually as useful as the flip out type, but it is very clear and crisp and very easy to see even in daylight. Now, one thing to consider that I did not think about before I purchased. The main difference to me now that I have both, the rear sliding display and the flip style display is that the flip style display is protected when closed and the sliding display is always open to damage if not protected somehow. I cut a screen protector to fit the display for scratch protection. I am not sure if there is any kind of cover that is available for this model but it would have been nice to have included a form of protecting the screen when not in use.
All in all, this is a very functional camera, recording quality is excellent, and the size is perfect in the hand, and is not too cumbersome to carry for long periods of time. I am surprised at the quality for the price. I would recommend it.

A Handyman Must Have!
I was shopping for a Swiss Army Knife when I stumbled upon a Swiss Army Knife VS. Leatherman Tool debate. I had never really compared the two, but I was interested enough to read about it. There were some pretty fierce followers of both camps, that's for sure! It was when someone from the SAK camp complained about the burden of carrying a LT in a pouch on the belt and it being too bulky for pocket carry when someone from the LT camp replied with pocket clip for the LT That's when they really got my attention. A pocket clip? Really? I have been working with these tools for so long, I never knew they even had a pocket clip! Then I heard the price! A pocket clip and a lanyard ring for right at 5 USD!?!? No way! I had to look for myself, and sure enough, there it was! I simply uses the tool lock already used for the locking tools. It slips into a slot on the end of the handle that I had never noticed before, on the same side as the file. It rides low inside the pocket so the end of the handles hide beneath the top of the pocket. When pulled out, it is in a natural position to open the straight edged knife blade.
No offense to the SAK camp, but I think I found my solution for my needs. Honestly, I really wanted another SAK due to the fact that I lost mine in Hurricane Katrina and still never replaced it, but I already had two Leatherman Tools, A Leatherman Surge and Leatherman Wave. I like them both for different reasons, but the pocket clip just turned my surge into a perfect EDC tool and replaces my pocket knife at the same time. If you don't feel like carrying it in your pocket and want to put it back in the pouch the clip doesn't interfere with how it fits into the pouch at all. I would definitely recommend this product if you felt you wanted to try out carrying your LT in a comfortable in-pocket fashion. I am not sure all of which models the clip fits, but I believe it gives you a list of which tools can utilize the clip.
* I would like to point out that I have read some reviews that didn't have such a positive outlook on the clip. They claim that it actually breaks/snaps very easily. I cannot attest to that........ yet. I also read that it moves back and forth quite a bit. I don't seem to have that issue. I just wanted to point out that I did know about those things being an issue for others, but for the price of 5 bucks, I figured I could give it a go for myself. At this point I have only been carrying it for for a couple of weeks with the pocket clip, but I am satisfied with it.

Light duty chisels
These chisels may need to be sharpened before use. They are definitely not for hard materials! Hard woods or other hard materials will more than likely damage these chisels. Once sharpened, they will be great for carving soft woods, wax and for shaping clay. I would say if you are looking to carve wood, look for something else. They are not stainless blades, they will actually bend if used on hard wood. Like I said, soft woods, wax and clay. That's what they are intended for I believe and anything beyond that, you're not going to be happy with them.
