    Great album.
This is a great album. If you play trombone or just like jazz trombone, you should have this album. Still sounds great, even thought it was recorded in 1978.

    Nice book about Jamerson.
Good book for bass players interested in the history of James Jamerson. Has many musical examples of his playing, etc.

Good quality USB mic for not too much money.
This review is for the Samson Q1U USB microphone. I wanted a good mic for recording myself playing trombone, and maybe some of the groups I play in, using my laptop and as little equipment as possible. I plugged the Q1U into my Mac Powerbook G4 Titanium, which doesn't have any audio inputs, which is why I had to get a USB mic. The computer recognized the mic right away without having to load any software or anything. You just select it in the sound preferences window. I have been recording with it using Audacity, which is free software, and it seems to work very well. The mic is heavy and feels solid, metal not cheap plastic junk. It comes with a clip that can screw onto a normal mic stand, or onto a small tripod desktop stand which is included. Also included is a 10 foot USB cable. I think it is a very nice mic for he money. A lot of these cost over $100, and this can be found for about $50. I got it new for even less on Ebay.
