Does exactly what it’s meant to
Fits well with no backlash on the bayonet fitting. T thread is smooth
Nicely machines with a good black anodised finish
Only downside is the red dot to align with the dot on the camera could have been on the outside knurled part of the ring rather than on the face that facades the camera just as it’s placed on a lens

Revived in better condition than it appeared in the photos
Was sent in good time and well packaged. The atlas was in better condition than it appeared in the photos. The flèche also came with it and in excellent condition (an item often lost or damaged)
The atlas is a classic easy to use item. This one is to replace the one’s have the other side of the world. Each page unfolds to give a clear easy to see outline of that portion of the sky with visual objects easy to define, even if using this in the dark under red light. It lacks fainter deep sky objects which are in easy to reach todays imaging sensors so from that standpoint may be a little outdated today. Although this atlas works very well with Burnhams celestial handbooks. The atlas used in conjunction with the handbooks to ease location of the targets with a scope. The flèche is a clear plastic sheet with a set sheet of grids printed on them that you can overlay on the page to get an accurate co-ordinate. This again is easy to use in the dark.
The pages are paper I a spiral binding. The cover is a water proof vinyl so provides protection from a wet table or can be quickly closed if there’s a sudden fall of dew.

Very ergonomic and efficient design
I’ve used a near identical one years ago so I’m already familiar with this. The paper is easily clamped in place. The straight edge is easy to use either horizontally or vertically. One side of the way it clamps has been lengthened for more stability on this version. The square and set square fit and come away from the straight edge with no fuss. Overall it’s a very ergonomic design which you can realistically use on your lap. This version has a couple of tilt stands and it even comes with an auto pencil set
