But this turned out to be the best eBayer I've ever dealt with. Outstanding! Without a doubt I'd buy from this eBayer again!

Okay for effect speakers.
2 of 2 found this helpful If used for rear effects speakers in a home theater rig they are adequate. I would not use them for the main stereo fronts in a high end system because they are too light and resonant, and they cannot be mass loaded with buckshot or sand because the posts are open ended.
As others have mentioned, the spikes provided for the base and the speaker platform are plastic and brittle. I can see how they could snap if the stand is dragged. The plastic spikes supplied as an option for supporting the speaker on the platform are too slippery to trust. They really should be made of a softer, grippier, compound. The rubber pads that are supplied as an alternative to the platform spikes have adhesive on both sides. I would prefer if it were on only one side, so that the side that comes into contact with the speaker was not covered in adhesive. I don't want that gluey substance getting on my nice expensive speakers. The pad material seems grippy enough to secure the speaker without need of an adhesive. As a solution, I’m going to use my own rubber pads that won’t schmutz up my speaker cabinets. Final criticism: The speaker platforms do not align completely with the bases. They are off by a noticeable amount when looking down at the stand from above. This is not so noticeable when a speaker is placed on the platform because the speaker can be aligned squarely with the base, but still… this speaks to a certain lack of quality control, and/or pride in manufacturing.
All-in-all, for a rear channel effects speaker stand, it would be hard to do significantly better for the money: However, I believe all the issues I mentioned could be rectified by the manufacturer for little, if any, increase in costs.
