Great little knife

Very happy, recommended! Great entry-level road bike for US 300$

I'm a beginning road cyclist, and it's danged hard to find a half-decent road bike that doesn't break the bank when working with a limited budget. I was super happy to find this 2013 Jamis Ventura priced at essentially less than half of its normal MSRP. The 48cm frame actually fits me really well, and that was the only thing that worried me. I'm no expert, but the bike presents itself as a very good entry-level road bike. Aluminum 6061 frame, STI-type shifters, decent rims, decent Tektro brakes, Shimano Sora in front and 2300 (I think?) at back. It's not awesome, but it's one grade above Tourney. Jamis is also a reputable company as far as I know. Bike came on time, in its factory box, and needed minimal assembly (handlebars and front brake). Wheels weren't true (and that was expected as per the description), but it took a pro bike tech about 15 minutes to sort that out. The mechanic had nothing bad to say about the bike. Anyway, factor a minor service call in the price of the bike. I've been on a few rides since I got the bike a week or 2 ago, and I'm very happy. Definitely recommended, if you find a frame size that works and you see this bike at 300$ US (which is what I paid for mine). I've looked around a lot, and I'm sure you can't find anything comparable for that price.
