My last pair of HyperX headphones lasted for 5 years - these are nicer, heavier, and are in great shape. Excited to use them, thanks!

Good Value for Money
Realistic stereo components have never commanded the prices seen from other equipment - both in home audio and in the car. This particular head unit features the "shaft style", or "in-dash" design that many cars from the early 80's and prior utilized. Unfortunately, many of those cars are quite rare and desirable, and as a result the stereos have skyrocketed in value - a Blaupunkt in similar condition (and with similar features) would demand $200-500, depending on condition. Pioneers and Kenwoods are not far behind.
This head unit is packed with features and decent power output. It matches the aesthetic of my '84 GTI, and that's what I really wanted. If you want a fancier brand name, buy something else, but Tandy did alright by me with this one.

Lovely to look at, even better to read.
More than the cover suggests - this contains the expected gorgeous photos of Midcentury Modern homes across Minnesota, but it also tackles the history of an architectural movement that was rooted in non-residential architecture. You can leave this on a coffee table (in my opinion, the cloth binding is especially attractive without the slipcover) but be warned: curious visitors will not be idly flipping through pages of glossy interiors, they'll be sucked into a sprawling history that starts with the Chicago Worlds fair and carries through IBM corporate structures, Minneapolis park land sales, failed movie theaters and a kitchen window that proved too much for Frank Lloyd Wright.
