Good upgrade

We ordered these ones to max-up our Dell T3600 workstations. The CPU and RAM performance increased 20-25%. It is Sandy-Bridge and runs a little warm - needs good heat-paste (we use MX-4) and good cooler. Properly cooled it does perform very well. Recommended upgrade.

Great L3 switch in great condition for great price.

We ordered 2 of these switches for production network. Both arrived very clean, no dead ports. Configuration was reset, "show system" printout was provided for each switch. Rack mounts, power cord and console cable were also provided. Latest firmware is available for free from Dell website unlike Cisco and Juniper where you must buy a support subscription before downloading. These DELL switches support cheap Finistar FTLX8571D3BCL SFP+ transceivers which also work with cheap SolarFlare SFN-6000-7000 PCI-E fiber network adapters. Performance is similar to Cisco 4948E for much less money. The CLI is very similar to Cisco IOS-15. This DELL-7048 fully-managed Layer-3 switch can do Inter-VLAN routing and OSPF so it can be used as core switch for small-medium business network or as high-performance access switch with 10Gb up-links to core switches.

This card uses the same chip-set as Intel I350-T2 card for much less. Work great with PFsense.
