Works as expected
Because my Dell E6410 has an Intel i7 cpu, it has the muscle to be a desktop replacement. Not having to connect/disconnect all the cables when installing or removing the laptop makes it a realistic proposition. The docking station has all the ports I needed (dvi, e-sata as well as power, audio and usb). Useful and practical.

Easy installation for the hardware tech-capable.
Easy to install if you're comfortable working inside a PC. The PC bios should detect the new hard drive immediately and Windows or Linux should treat the drive as just another drive. Of course, you lose your DVD drive, so I bought an external (USB) DVD drive for those increasingly rare occasions when I have to load some software or driver, or burn a disk. My Dell bios will give me a one-time boot menu if I hit F12 during post.
My PC will then boot from this new drive (if the drive is bootable).
