A disappointment if you loved the book
Movies are never as good as the books, but it's entertaining to see your imagination brought to life. I wanted to see the small town brought to life, and most importantly Brody's character. Right off the bat I was wondering why in the world they cast someone so old as the lead! Locklear may be beautiful, but she looked they thought they could make her look young if they used enough makeup. Brody's personality wasn't nearly gruff enough, and the conflicts they had seemed random and out of place instead of an important part of the development. The acting was fine, the real problem was taking a novel with a plot of any intricacy and trying to fit it an 2 hour tv slot. The plot was forced down your throat and the movie hardly focused on the development of the romance between Reece and Brody- the point of the romance novel, after all. I LOVED this book, the mystery mixed with the romance, and now when I try to read it I have Locklear's face stuck in my head. I'm afraid it'll take a while for that to fade.
