One of few that work
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my second purchase of H-Balm extra strength. I get cold sores on my lips periodically. When I get them, it takes about three weeks to "run its course" and it is horrible. At the worst, the sores cause my lip to split and bleed profusely and it looks like a gunshot wound. I have used this product now during two outbreaks and it shortens the duration to about a week and reduces the severity about 90%. If you don't like or believe in homeopathic medicines, I would say that in general, neither do I. I think that homeopathic drugs are now being used to avoid FDA claims regulations which are more lax for homeopathics. A product that has non homeopathic ingredients can also have homeopathic ingredients and they skip a lot of red tape. Regardless of any of that, I believe this product is highly effective. A friend of mine also uses it and has similar results compared to mine. It does not work immediately or cure the virus as far as I can tell in a short time of using it. It is however the most effective product I have tried and I recommend it highly. On a side note, the bottle has a poorly designed cap. What seems to be a safety ring also prevents the lid from breaking when tightened down. I learned this the hard way. Just don't remove the black ring that is attached to the cap after opening the product. Also the solution is very drying, sort of like putting alcohol on your lip. Because of this, I get better results by using the H-balm and following it with some oil or lip balm of any kind so you keep your lips from drying and cracking. It seems to me, the more times per day you use it and the earlier you start using it once you notice a pending outbreak... the better it works. Last comment: When I first bought the product I tried it a few times the first couple of days although I did not have a cold sore, nor did I feel one coming on. I believe it was a coincidence but I actually got a cold sore a couple days later. I am confident that the product did NOT cause or induce a cold sore. I include this comment only to demonstrate that the product apparently will not prevent outbreaks but does end them rapidly. Nice product.
