Secret Warriors #4 1st App Manifold (aka Sleeping Giant!)
Comic Fans, Collectors & Speculators have been chasing their tails for Secret Warriors #2 & #6 over character(s), Madame Hydra, which Disney introduced into the most recent installment to the MCU, the streaming ‘Falcon and The Winter Soldier’.
While I see the appeal, I make decisions based on a titles overall appeal, and many other factors, for instance, this Secret Warriors 2009 Volume is an excellent example of Bendis at his best. Incredible storytelling, with Jim Cheung’s artwork delivering the script like no film or television show ever could. So many factors are taken into account when I purchase a title, Secret Warriors #4 has been on my list for a hot minute, as it’s the 1st appearance of of a mutant, Manifold, arguably one of the baddest mutants in the Marvel 616. His powers to fold space and time, in a matter of speaking, are brilliant. With 4 decades of collecting comics seriously, reading everything I can, and doing my fair share of writing; I think chasing Comics based on speculation alone is equal to removing magic from a wizard’s wand, or sound from a piano. There’s something special about digging through boxes for a specific title, discussing new titles, writers, and artists with like minded individuals, it’s real magic. I love this run, specifically Secret Warriors #4, and I highly recommend adding it to your collection if you haven’t already! My advise is to go out on a limb, read something new, buy something that interests you and not what Disney/Marvel are telling you that you need to own because they may have XYZ character in an upcoming film! My favorite comics aren’t my most valuable ones, they are the ones with epic storylines, mind blowing panels, Interior artwork that pulls me into the story, and covers that don’t quit! Secret Warriors #4 is one of these books! Check it out already!
