Great Self-Amplified Speaker for its Size
2 of 2 found this helpful It's amazing how much quality sound they manage to get out of such a small enclosure. Granted, it will never challenge the bass response of a self amplified 6" or 8" woofer, but give a little help by placing it near a corner and you'll be more than satisfied. I have only used them in solo--non stereo--configuration, such as in a large master bathroom or in the garage, but the sounds is full and satisfying. I would suspect that they would not put out enough soundstage and bottom end to suffice as a primary pair in a stereo configuration unless a Sonos subwoofer were also used. I've heard those and they crank out the bass. Taking the burden of the low end off of the Sonos Play 1 and letting it focus on the mids and highs would likely be a great set up for daily AV and non-critical music listening. Great product! I could use a couple more of them.
