Two statements, this is a non-smoking but 2-cat house. I recycle packaging when possible. First request; please be specific about fabric composition, and don t call something silk when it s not....it tells you on the label. Second request; please let me know if your delivery system of choice is Evri. I prefer not to use them, too many doorstep deliveries are stolen in my area.

Slightly unsatisfactory
It's a bold attempt at re-working two classic tales in one; the author has all the credentials for the classics, but (alas) not for authorship. This is undoubtedly a pedantic point but when dealing with such subjects it would make a good deal more sense if she mastered the subjunctive, ie used "might" instead of "may". And it's not always clear which character belongs to which story or indeed which faction - which I suppose ramps up the theme of betrayal, but I did find it a slightly unsatisfactory read.

A deeply fascinating and informative book
It is shameful that so many of these amazing artists have been overlooked; but this book gives an example of their works and a potted biography of each one. It's not perfect, there are a handful of others I would definitely have included, and I've never been entirely convinced about some of the performance artists. But it is a deeply deeply fascinating read and the illustrations are fantastic.

It's a bit of an acquired taste
I'm not sure it's a good idea to read 3 novels back to back; by the end of the 3rd I was getting a little bit tired of the wholesomeness and amicable solutions to all the problems. But that's entirely a matter of taste. I bought this because I'd read the book that deals with the Underground Railroad, and loved that; this one is just a little bit too cosy to appeal to me. But if you like cosy, and you know stuff about quilting techniques, you'll love this.
