Excellent Aircraft Aftermarket Part
I have always like True Details items. They are resin parts to upgrade certain parts of model aircraft. This item is the resin cockpit for the 1/48 Phantom. The details are excellent, although they may be a hair softer than some other AM parts. They seem to cover most items seen in my references and I had little trouble with fit. I am no expert on the accuracy of the pit, but it certainly looks the part. The best part of the True Detail kits are they are very good for a very low price and are consistently cheaper than most of the othe manufacturers. Highly recommended.

Great Hasegawa F-4 Phantom
1 of 1 found this helpful Yes, the Academy 1/48 Phantoms are the best F-4's in this scale. But for a simple, straight forward build, not to mention cheaper, try the Hasegawa kit, it is pure modeling pleasure. Much more a static build than the more dynamic Academy kit, but building the Academy is work, building the Hasegawa Phantom is fun. Both kits look very much like Phantoms when built, there's just more bells and whistles on the Academy kit. So if you want Tamiya quality and detail, and only want to build one F-4, then build the Academy. If you want to build several F-4's and explore all the different versions and great paint schemes, then do yourself a favor and pick up a couple of the Hasegawa kits, you won't be sorry.
I had very few build issues, and the ones I did have were self inflicted. The panel lines are engraved, but a hair shallow for my paint style. Fit, details and accuracy are all good in my book, overall a pleasurable build.

Great Kit of The Space Battleship Yamato 2199
2 of 2 found this helpful Whether you are a fan of the Japanese Anime series or have never heard of it, this is an impressive kit on it's own merits. Super detailed, fits well, offers a huge pallet for painting and weathering. Have a place to display it tho, cause this thing is large. Yes, it's not cheap and it is not a toy. But is an awesome model.
