so awesome
This is an impressive kit, very detailed high quality and a thankfully rare naval vessel to find in model form. in a medieval diorama or gaming table it is a real center piece. the parts are well engineered to fit precisely and no trades of flash anywhere. many parts have locating tabs. Takes glue and primer well. the directions are easy to understand and have English translations. This model can either be a full model with a base or as I built it a water line version for gaming. also note that this comes with all the parts to make the hanse kogge which is missing the mast basket and smaller forward archer platform. the only thing to say is that could be better is that it needs miniatures to sail it, but I have not found anything very appropriate as sailors go. other details like barrels and bags would help too.

I am just so grateful that a company made this. And no one better than Zvezda. I have their castles and stuff but most of what I have been dreaming in my feudal land is how to use the ships. There are 2 options for molded sails that look great and lots of nice detail. The only tricky part has been to find miniatures of sailors for it. If you make the waterline version you also get a second hull basically that with some customization could be made into anything from another ship to ship wreck, dock, etc....

Best value mortar
1 of 1 found this helpful This mortar and pestle is everything most people would need. It is just big enough for larger sauces reaching a price point of much smaller mortar and pestles ($30 and under). The granite is an attractive well polished and the way the final finish is ground at a spiral angle seems optimum for muggling grinding. The bowl is big and deep, the cavity pretty much made from a perfect 1" thick bowl of granite with about 3/8" thick circular base. I do feel the base tapers down to a small area than expected (makes it almost look like its floating on the countertop) and there is not much extra thickness at the bottom but it does seem very sturdy and should be stronger then most home chefs need. This is a 2nd one for me, I have a larger heavier one too and do not regret that and recommend getting as big as possible, but for the cost its diminishing returns and this is a fantastic value and hits all the spots a good mortar and pestle should have.
