Butchers Hill by Laura Lippman
Laura Lippman is a good writer I would recommend any of her books. The Author's main character, a female reporter turned private detective, investigates the crimes in a very human fashion. The writer gives us a great deal of local color with restraunt and Bar tips. The stories appaered to be ground in fact which makes it appear that she is writing a crime story for the Newspaper. through the Author's Characters.
