That got this thing to me overnight (three days EARLY), barely beating a hurricane.

A decent replica, but not authentic.
Sellers need to learn the difference between VINTAGE and RETRO. This phone is not authentic, it is a reproduction. As such, it is a decent copy of the standard old Bell Telephone models sold up until the digital revolution.
It looks pretty much the same (with the exception of the cheap-looking white nubs that connect and disconnect the phone when you lift or replace the receiver–they were clear plastic in the originals, these are cheap white ones). The plastic it is made from is of lower quality than back in the day (scratches easily and probably will crack and break more easily as well).
The biggest disappointment is that the unit lacks the substantial heft of the original. You really feel it when you pick up the receiver. It's close, but just not the same. The fact is, you can still find originals in working condition for around the same price as this copy.

Loud and a bit aggressive, but well built.
Everything is great, except it's almost violent, even in the 'gentle' setting, and it's about as loud as a chainsaw.
