Cute film; worthy of watching for cleverness and humor

While this film is retro (even though it is supposed to be about the future) there are some charming things about it. The profanity violations make the film funny and the exaggerated politically correct changes in society are funny. I found watching Sandra Bullock in her earlier days rather amusing; she has come a long way, while Sly, in my opinion hasn't emerged as an actor since the Rocky series went stale.

This is in the top 25 of my all time film experiences

I find Spielberg/Hanks war presentations to be touching by the way that so many angles of the human experience are seen and how well the various sub-plots are stitched together. The flavor of The Pacific is much different from Band of Brothers, though the war was the same. This might be a distraction for some but I think both series are stand-alone successes and, together, represent a worthy addition to the collection of anyone who wishes to remind him or herself of the sacrifices and complications of the way war used to be fought. I believe that the youth of today have no concept of what comprised patriotism and defending and protecting the constitution. Another well-done production from Spielberg and Hanks. Kudos all around.
