Practical and unobtrusive
I own two of these now. They stay put, have a spot for coffee cup handles, and have an insert for cans so you can get the right size. I bought one in cream and one in Brown to match my couch and recliner colors.

Average Vizio remote
Virtually identical to the original remote. I don’t use the Netflix or I heart apps from the Vizio television itself, but the remote does open them and all other Vizio based functions.
Remote itself is not built for decades of service. The most commonly used buttons wear out over time. I’m on my 2nd replacement. However at this price point you can simply get a new one every few years or get a couple so when you lose one under the couch you can still find the other one.
