Giggle box needed fixing
I bought it for my 2 year old niece because she liked Elmo a lot. The good part was that I definitely got an original Tickle Me Elmo in the box it came with. The other versions of Elmo are not as cute as the 1996 version. However, being that the toy was 25 years old, the batteries installed in the giggle box were corroded, so not surprisingly it needed a bit of cleaning and repairs. Fortunately my brother has an Electrical Engineering degree, so he was able to fix the gear, repair one of the battery connectors and clean the circuit board to restore Elmo in working condition for his daughter. Everything worked out okay in the end and my niece LOVES Tickle Me Elmo, ticklish or not.
