Motorola Droid 4
4 of 7 found this helpful In cellphone technology terms, this phone is OBSOLESCENT. It is 2.5 years old in human years, but 10 years in cell phone time. This Droid 4 is my fourth unit. My daughter has one and the other two units are awaiting ribbon cables.
Motorola has no interest in this phone. The Jellybean Android 4.1.2 version has been superseded by the KitKat, Lollipop and, now, the Marshmellow Android operating systems.
All my four phones have been plagued by FREEZING APPS....especially the Contacts app and WhatsApp. In fact, just about all the apps would freeze at some time. I have written to Motorola numerous times, begging for help. They sent two fixes, but none worked. Since then, Motorola has either not solved the problem or is just ignoring me.
My problem is my inability to use the touch screen keyboard. I just can't get used to it. Hence, my continued use of the Droid4. Yes...it is thick and heavy, but the Droid 4 Qwerty keyboard is still the best on the market.
I want Motorola to produce the Droid 5. A 5 inch display, Marshmellow OS, 20mp and 8mp cameras, HSPA+ and all the features of the Samsung would make it a World hit. It would be great if Apps, messages and contacts could be saved on the mini SD card. I will not encourage anyone to buy such an old phone unless, like me, you are a slave to the Qwerty keyboard. If Motorola understood BRAND LOYALTY, they would have supported me until the Droid 5 came out.....
Buy at your own risk..
