Canon PowerShot A620
1 of 1 found this helpful Purchased as a backup for the first A620 I bought off of ebay, and these are excellent cameras, with multiple features for almost every need. Plan on getting one for my daughter. Price has come down somewhat since my first one, so is an even better value. For anyone who wants a super point and shoot, this is it.

Canon PowerShot A620-Great
1 of 1 found this helpful A friend has this camera and highly recommended it. It is a discontinued model, so ebay was the likely place to find it. It has all of the features one would need to easily take excellent pictures, as well as many manual features for more involved photographers. The 7.1 megapixels is more than adequate to make enlargements as needed and it may also be used for macro pictures. It probably has more features than a novice at photography would need, but, on the other hand, for one who wanted to learn more about photography, it offers the ability to grow. All of my other equipment (digital SLR, EOS SLR, and old F1N) is Canon, so I am a devoted fan.
While there are a multitude of point and shoot digital cameras out there, one should consider the excellent optics, electronics and reputation that Canon has among photographers (as does Nikon, Pentax and Leica).
