Lifemaster 8500W Jackshaft Openers are Rock Solid
We have had the LM8500 for almost a year and it has been flawless. We do not use the wireless phone app- just a normal opener. So our install and usage is basic.
It is 1) Ultra quiet- no one knows you cam in the garage- it doesn't vibrate the ceiling in the garage like belt or chains do.
2) Has a battery backup and will open 5-7 times before you have to release and go to manual opening
3) gets rid of the trolley rail on the ceiling
4) Has an automatic LED sensor light that gives good lighting to a two care space and draws very little energy
5) the manual opener at the utility door has a convenient time and temp display- useful if you work in your garage in winter.
The only caveat for these is making sure you have a power outlet in close proximity to the right or left side of your garage door at the front. Otherwise, running an extension cord is a nuisance and a potential safety hazard- not recommended.

LONG LASTING AND EASY TO PROGRAM RD-1200R EXT
THIS IS MY THIRD IRRITROL CONTROLLER. THEY SEEM TO LAST FOR ABOUT 25 YEARS ADN THEN HAVE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THE CONTROL VOLTAGE DROPS FROM 24 TO 14-15 VOLTS. THIS CAN BE REPAIRED, BUT I CHOSE TO FIND SOMEONE WITH A HARDLY USED NEWER MODEL INSTEAD.
HIGHLY RELIABLE.

SwissStop BXP Rim Pads-Expensive- but good for specialty Aluminum rims
Expensive- but good for specialty Aluminum rims.
These are recommended for many ultralight Aluminum race/performace wheels sets such as Campy Shamal OR DT Swiss PR1400 DiCut Oxic. They claim to have 1) better wet condition braking and 2) not scuff up your expensive wheels and 3) give better braking performance in wet or dry conditions than carbon rim brakes.
The compound is definitely softer than the Campagnolo Record ones that came off. We shall see if they are actually better. Other reports say they are, but wear fast- so buy two sets instead on one.
