New lease of life into tired old computer

I got this to replace my old Athlon II X4 630 cpu as it was struggling to play an online game I play, achieving 20-50fps (mostly 20). Checked motherboard stats and this phenom CPU was towards the upper limit it would accept (the more powerful ones were 140TDP so I stayed clear of them). Installed this and what a difference, game FPS is now 60-110 and other stuff is noticeably quicker. Slightly overclocked it to 3.6Ghz, computer stable and temps still low since I already had a huge cooler in the computer. Impressed with the new lease of life this has given my computer

Duplicated my master socket with ease

The phoneline to my house comes into the kitchen which is not ideal since I did not want my broadband router in the kitchen. Moving the master socket is never going to happen since I am not willing to pay BT to do it. I saw a few Youtube videos showing how to duplicate the master socket using a second master socket and some network cable. Since my house was already networked with Cat6 cable it was a no-brainer and this socket was the best value, decent looking one I could find since it had the wall mount plate and the two master socket plates all included in the pack. Rejigged the wiring as instructed in the videos and everything worked first time, as stable as before and just as fast. This socket doesnt even need a wire insertion tool since you just stick the wires in the relevant plastic cover and snap it shut which makes the connection. This is so much better than the old system of prodding the wire between two blades to make a contact. All in all, a decent product, does exactly what it was supposed to and the price was reasonable.
