Moody Blues @ Royal Albert Hall
I have been a fan of the Moody Blues since the inception of the band in the late 1960's. This concert is a good representation of some of their most popular hits and still features Ray Thomas, now retired. He does the famous "Legend of a Mind" song, which always was a concert favorite. I don't believe they perform it anymore since he left. The orchestration makes a nice additional backdrop for their instuments - it gives the songs more melodic body. The songs sung by John Lodge are rather weak, as his vocal style is limited. Justin Hayward is definitely the vocal backbone of this group. The song "Words you Say" could easily be deleted without a loss; again sung by Lodge. Overall, this is a good concert and ddefinitely shows why the Moody Blues still perform today nearly 50 years after their formation.

    Ram Dass Wrap Up
Richard Alpert, aka Ram Dass, sums up his life's journey in this, his final book Ram Dass became an iconic figure in the spiritual movement in Americain the 1960's, having been introduced to higher states of consciousness via the use of psychedelics. He details the transformations that he went thru and his introduction to his guru, Neem Karoli Baba. Using the ancient techniques of Eastern metaphysics, Ram Dass delved further into the realm of spiritual enlightenment. His articulate and humorous style make this a delightful read, and may shed some light in every readers' quest for spiritual truth. This book wraps up his entire life and is his final contribution to a wealth of knowledge he had already imparted.
    Fuel Filter BECK/ARNLEY 043-1038

    Gas filter
I bought this mainly on cost considerations. Beck Arnley is a brand name, so one assumes there is at least OEM quality. It is made in Israel, as are many other brands - I suspect that one factory makes these filters and just labels them with a multitude of different brand names - essentially they are identical. I cut open the old gas filter, which was Toyota OEM, just out of curiosity. I don't know how long it had been on the vehicle, but I suspect at least 100,000 miles (if not more). The internal element was dark, but not clogged. The residual gas leaking out of the filter was stained dark, but still flowed freely. Judging by what I saw, I won't change this element again for a minimum of 20,000 miles; it appears to have a long service life.
